wandering Joshua Tree with Kev + Laus

Over the weekend we took a one day trip to Joshua Tree National Park! It certainly was an adventure into an almost other-worldly place far into the desert. At first, G and I weren't even planning to go into the park, but before we knew it we were at the booth were the trooper handed us our map and said to go on in for free! A couple days before was the anniversary of the National Parks so we were so blessed to have a free pass into such an amazing place!

I'll admit, I was a little nervous about this trip because of that last time we visited Joshua Tree. But it totally redeemed our previous visit by a landslide! This day was so much better than that day. So much better! Kev and Laura are so dear to us and we loved exploring it with them. Also, we couldn't thank Kevin for snapping some pics of us while we were there! (check out his work HERE!) Here are some iPhone pics that will never do this place justice, but I love them anyway.

When you see windmills you know you're getting close!
we're here!

Rio, Rio: Arraial do Cabo

Welcome to our third and final post from our trip to Rio last year, in honor of the 2016 Olympic Games! This is the one place I absolutely wanted to visit again after experiencing it the first time in 2014. The pictures never do it justice. These first few pictures are from the 3 hour drive there.
road side snacks!
Our first stop was the only beach I really wanted to return to that we've already visited, Prainha!
Tia was actually cold at this point! She did eventually take off that thick leather jacket though....lol!
This clear blue-green water, there's nothing like it!
After spending the afternoon at the beach, we drove around to explore...
And when I thought the day couldn't get any better, we made our way to the dunes. And it was magic.
^^ one of my favorite pics from the trip ^^

<3 Rio.
