Otello

& it seemed like it wasn't going picture-perfect night...let me explain.

Last night, G & I went to see Otello at the Lyric Opera for a ridiculously low price - yes!

Three weeks before then, G found a website that gives discounts to students who want to attend the Opera - yes!

The only 2 dates we could choose from were Wednesday the 9th or Saturday the 12th & I was working both nights - nooo!

G was being spontaneous & convinced me to text the mom I was babysitting for to cancel & explain that my awesome hubs got me tickets to see an Opera that night - no! (at first with high anxiety)

Yes! She texted me back & was totally cool with it! - YES!!!

The day of the show was a warm & sunny & blue skied fall day! - yes!

Wednesdays are the busiest days of the week for G & I, so we knew we'd have to rush to get ready - no!

I wanted to leave home around 6:15 pm so we could take pictures with the sunset. We left at 6:40 pm & the sun was gone - no! (with a sad face)

We arrived at the Lyric Opera 15 minutes before show time, so we were on time right? - yes!

Our $20 ground level seats were awesome! - YES!

Intermission flew by & we didn't get a picture together like we planned - no!

By the time Otello ended, every restaurant besides fast food was closing in a half hour, & we were very hungry - no!

G decided to cook for us at home & he made the most delicious Fettuccine Alfredo with Sausage in under 30 mins! - YES!

We both got to sleep in this morning - Yes!!

& that is the end of my "yes & no" explanation of our night, which wasn't planned to be written that way at all! What? I love it! Yes!

So, a couple lessons I learned from our first Lyric Opera experience in Chicago:
        1. Being spontaneous involves risk sometimes, and I don't have to be afraid take them!
        2. Even though I wasn't able to capture our night with all the photographs I wanted, it was still picture-                        perfect because of the precious new memories we got to share together.

As G loves to remind me in many different ways, it's not always about taking a picture - it's about being in the moment with the people you love. & I love him for that.

Here are the few pictures we did take from our night watching Otello at the Lyric Opera.
I guess it really was picture-perfect.

Love, t Olive

yes, we snapped this picture in our bathroom before heading out the door since its the room
with the best lighting in our apartment after dark! (still laughing at this)
the view from our seats was better than we expected!
 hey there, good-lookin'.
deciding what to wear for Otello was way more stressful than it should have been, but
at the end of the day I did not buy anything new (yes!) & felt gorgeous in all black.
& a standing ovation for the cast!
