He loves me

This weekend is one I never want to forget for so many reasons that begin with one person..

G.

He is so good to me. In my bad days, feeling fat days, just not good enough days, lazy days, don't wanna cook days, grumpy days, staying up til 2 am crying days... I mean through it all He has been the person who has loved me in such an unconditional way. Through him, in these past 2 1/2 + years I have been learning what love really looks like & all I can say is I am beyond blessed & thankful to God for giving me in him what I did not know I still was not grasping the meaning of. True, raw, sacrificial, not always pretty & romantic but deep & unconditional love.

G points me to Christ everyday.
  • This weekend was absolutely freezing so Friday night when I got home from work...
  • G had prepared a delicious dinner making sure to bake His & Her's fries which looks like sweet potato for me & regular extra crispy for him
  • G surprised me with Toblerone (one of my chocolate favorites) & also bought chocolate chip cookie dough so I could bake cookies that night because he knows I'm all about baking in the winter time.
  • G found a website where we could watch the Golden Globe nominated movies for free & planned for us to see American Hustle which we loved.
  • Saturday morning as I was making breakfast G danced & sang to BB King
  • I told  I wanted a surprise (as I often do..lol) & he laughed & said ok.
  • G told me he would have a surprise for me one Saturday, but that Saturday he already had a surprise in hand.
  • He said he had got it a while ago, but was waiting for the right time to deliver it to me & today he thought was perfect because it was our monthly anniversary & he'd been thinking about it all week (q: jaw drop)
*note: this is the first time G remembered our monthly anniversary & the first time I did not & it was so sweet!
  • G & I went out for a cold walk that afternoon & scored $6 pants (yay clearance!) & saw the icy river in all its cold glory.
  • That night we watched another anticipated film, August: Osage County, which was very depressing but had great acting by our favorite pretty woman Julia and Meryl.
  • Sunday was our 2nd week visiting new churches & this one started at 11:45 pm..cheers for sleeping in!
  • Church of the Beloved was such a blessing & spoke to me tremendously
  • We cooked together for lunch & dinner & saw a preview for Maleficent on TV which looked terrifyingly good
  • After realizing we both could not remember the details of Sleeping Beauty we watched the old Disney classic that night & it was preeeettyyy scary for a children's movie but we're excited to see Angelina's version
  • G convinced me to cut class this morning because I only had one & it feels like -20 today. He assured me he'd get groceries so I would not have to go outside.
To the man who tells me I'm beautiful & loved every day,
I love you so much & appreciate the man you are.
I feel blessed & honored to know you like no one else ever will
You are my rock when life is weary & your love points me to Jesus in so many ways.
I am so thankful for you

Love, T Olive

**p.s. I just ordered you a surprise in honor of Valentines Day & am so so excited about it. ;)

on the road: VA beach pt. 3

our final day...
Williamsburg & a night in
not pictured is the most hilarious moment that happened while we were here: a "solider" invited the guys to fight in the war & assured Larissa she'll get some money every month if G doesn't return. Of course she's his wife because they are the same skin color..of course! We all laughed so much, me almost hysterically but I didn't want to embarrass the guy more than he already was, red faced & all!
cooking with sparkling cider feels as fancy as it looks & I might just make it commonplace at home..
so enchanted with this gorgeous girl!

we hope to see you again Virginia Beach!

on the road: VA beach pt. 2

Let's play by the sea

After dancing to one too many Brittany, Brazilian Funk(ie), & Michael Jackson songs on New Years Eve, the first of January was spent sleeping in, going to the beach, eating yummy sea food, checking out Norfolk & watching movies. As you'll see in a moment most of these pictures from our day are from the beach because it was a gorgeous in the 50 degree day - but it was a blast going around town checking out where God has placed our friends & also continuing to think, what if one day we'd all live in the same state again. Figures are crossed for sure.

We are so thankful to have Julie & Dre as friends for so many years. Love you guys, near & far.

1 pound of shrimp & 1 pound of crab. How he almost ate the entire thing I have no idea!

Goodnight Norfolk.

on the road: VA beach pt. 1

A couple months ago, a grand idea came to mind! Let's spend New Years with Julie & Dre in Virginia Beach I thought to myself, called Julie, & the excitement began! Well, who knew that on the last day of 2013, G & I would be driving to VA with our sisters and a giraffe named Todd to meet Julie, Dre, Gui (aka G-bear) & a puppy named Tramp.

If I didn't say we brought in the New Year laughing & having a good time together it would be a lie because it was, as G-bear would say, perfect! Here are a few photos from our drive & bringing in the new year together!

I loved every minute of it! Especially the dancing "on the table"

Someone (^^^) was already preparing himself to conquer 2014!
Dre was a little too tired to open his eyes for this one!

pop, fizz, click!

cheers to 2014!
love, t Olive
