California bloom

When the flowers start to bloom in the spring, we make sure to take our yearly hike at Torrey Pines because the smells and views are breath taking. The California Poppy was in full bloom for the first time in years according to life long locals. We felt grateful to see them in all their beauty.

So how do you combine exercise with a good time? Go hiking on the beach! At least that's where this hiking trail led us, and it was pretty gorgeous to say the least! Google, Yelp and Instagramers who live in SD have been helping us discover the best places to experience around here, and Torrey Pines State Reserve did not disappoint! Here's a few photos from the hike to the collapse at the beach. Maybe not quite a collapse, but it sure was relaxing getting to lay on the sand and listen to the waves after a 2.5 hour hike. We can't wait to go back soon!

We've yet to see (or hear!) a rattlesnake here in SoCal, but these signs def. remind us that they're around, sparing us a good scare, thankfully. 

^^ when someone with a big, fancy camera asks to take your picture on your phone, you'd think it would come out perfectly un-blurry. Nope. lol
